Whoa! Stop right there! What did you say? Here’s some straight-talking advice on when you should walk away from potential surgery or treatment.

Almost anyone can set themselves up as a plastic surgeon. Because the surgery is elective, you’re deciding and you’re responsible for choosing a good surgeon. It’s all down to you.

Is your surgeon happy for you to talk to at least one past patient – or are you going to be their guinea pig? Walk away!

Feeling in any way pressured by a surgeon or treatment provider to have another procedure or different procedure? Are they offering a discount? Giving you a special offer? Suggesting you sign right away or lose the deal or they’re giving you something for signing on-the-spot? Walk away!

Instinctively feel something’s not quite right but can’t put your finger on what it is? Walk away!

Tattoo artists don’t work on drunk people, neither should anyone performing a cosmetic treatment. Don’t let anyone perform any kind of procedure on you at a party or other social event. If alcohol or any other kind of social relaxant is offered to ‘calm your nerves’ (it happens!) walk away.

Just because someone is a good hairstylist, make-up artist or health care expert doesn’t mean they’re qualified to carry out minor medical procedures. If you feel uncomfortable or haven’t heard what others have to say, guess what? Walk away!
